The Karuizawa museum is located in the Nagano province, approximatively 150 km from Tokyo: a very beautiful region of Japan, region of volcanic mountains where many wealthy Tokyo people have country residences. The museum has been established by a family foundation inspired by Peynet. It is located in a large park around an artificial lake with boating facilities.
The museum can be found in a wooden building which has been designed by a pupil of the famous architect Le Corbusier. A very beautiful Peynet’s statue (bronze) representing the lovers seated can be seen in front of the building: a pottery shop, a restaurant, a boutique where books, porcelains, posters, medals, Peynet jewellery representing the kiosk of Valence and also the famous lovers.
